POST V: The Movie Version
Now that you have seen the movie version of The Crucible, write a brief review of the movie. Be sure to include parts that you liked and why you liked them, as well as descriptions of the parts you didn't like and why you didn't like them.
Now that i saw the movie, i think the movie is very good. I think John Proctor did the right thing by not confessing to something he really had nothing to do with. Abigal really did everyone wrong by making them believe it was inocient people! They hung all the good people and no on really should have.
I liked the movie a lot. I didn't like how everyone believed Abigail no matter what she said or how outrageous that it seemed. Many INNOCENT people hung because a jealous little girl wanted a grown man. I also did not like the fact that Proctor sacrificed his life. I understand that he wanted to make a stand, but he had kids and he should have been there for them and for Elizabeth. The last hanging was really sad, especially when the old woman was being hung and her husband cried. It was very sad. The imagery was really good throughout the movie and the actors did a good job of showing the emotions. It was really believable.
I thought the play was very good, and entertaining. I think they did a good job, I think John Proctor did the right thing by telling the truth. I think the movie was very good, and I understood it better than the book.
I think the movie was way better than the play because you can see all the things that happens. The movie also is better to me because the people who was reading the play could not get into character like the people in the movie. however I love the movie!!!!!
I thought the movie of the crucible was good. I liked the stand that every innocent person took. The parts I didn't like the parts when the girls acted like they saw spirits. Overall is was good.
This movie was very similar to The Crucifiction of Jesus. It showed how many people was not honest toward the people of the court and they believed them. John Proctor rather had taking his life other than his good name. To me that was selfish, because he had two boys at home and to me he didn't think about them. At the end of the movie their walk to death was just like when Jesus was walking toward the cross to be hung.
I thought the movie of the crucible was good.I liked the stand that every innocent person took when it came to confessing. I didn't like when the girls kept screaming about spirits coming after them. Overall it was very interesting.
i think the play was good until the part when the people had got hung. i think that proctor did the right thing by not confessing to something that he had nothing to with.I also think Abigail was wrong for not telling the truth.
The movie version was very good. I liked the part of the woman getting whipped and at the end when proctor them started saying the lord's prayer. What I didnt like is when abigial was lying the whole time and killed many innocent over that one little lie.
It all started when Abigail told that lie about those people in the village doing witchcraft. The part that i liked the most was when proctor and Abigail was in the forest. The part that i disliked was when all those people got hanged.
The movie is very much like the book. I dom't think I liked any parts of the movie. Abigail just ruined everything. What I disliked the most was when Abigail and the girls accused all the innocent people and the court was believing them. The innocent people were put in jail without any actual proof. I didn't like this because they were being put in jail. Some were being hang off of an accusation alone. That was VERY wrong.
I like the movie because its like the stuff is real it actually made me feel like I was there. The parts in the book that I liked is when all thegirls were pretending to be under a spell the reason I like this part is because it seems real.
The Movie version was very different from the book..i like the movie but the play was boring...one part of the movie i liked was kinda at the beginning when Abigail and Betty was arguing about the witchcraft and she was slung on the bed and Rebecca nurse put her to sleep.There really ain't no part i didn't like of the movie.
The movie the Crucible played mostly on the same lines as the book. This gave a visual reference of the book. The actors in the movie played their part as I imagined the parts should be played. The movie overall is very descriptive.
I think the movie version of the crucible was most of what I expected. It didn't make any sense for anyone to be trialed and hung because you get accused. I disliked the scene when they started to bring good citizens upon the court. I liked the scene when John Proctor, Rebecca Nurse, and Martha Corey recited the Ten Commandments before they were hung.
What i liked about them movie was that it was VERY dramatic. How the girls freaked out for nothing just to trick the court was very impressive. I liked how Proctor risked his life to fight for whats right. This was a very good movie.
I actually loved the movie The Crucible. It was very dramatic and exciting to watch. On certain parts you will find yourself on the edge of your seat with suspense to find out what is going to happen next. One of my favorite parts would have to be when the girls blamed Mary Warren on being the devil and went running in the ocean. I loved how Mary Warren turned everything around on John Procter so Abigail would not come after her. The other part that I liked the most was when John was in jail and Abigail tried to get him to run away with him and he flat out told her no. My least favorite part is when Goody Proctor denied John having an affair with Abigail. It didn't really change that much in the movie. The movie would have been better if they come up with something different to make the movie better. I really liked this movie because it was based on a true story and it gives you an incite on what actually happened during the witch trials.
The book was like the movie in some ways. There were certain parts in the movie i liked and some I did not. What i didn't like the most was when John prctor and the other two ladies were being hung at the end and they were saying the Lord's Prayer and the man didn't even let tthem finish and to me that was so disrespectful, to the Lord. And that was so not right.
i think that the movie was alright but it has some parts that i didnt like. Like when all the girls keep lie and make it where more people are getting hung for no reason.

The movie was good their was alot of people that was innocent was hanged.Reverend Hale was trying to save John Proctor, but he was willing to die for his good name than to confessing to witchcrasft and being with his family. Alot of innocent people was telling the court they don't do witchcraft but still got hanged.
I think the book and movie were a lot of like, but for once I understand the movie better than the play. The movie gave us that dramatic feel unlike we were able to capture from reading the play as a class. The hanging scene at the end had to be the best. It felt so real. I found it super sad when Rebecca's Nurse cried as she was taking her last moments of life. I find it very cool that the3 said the Lord's Prayer at the end of their life. The movie was very entertaining. I enjoyed the movie very well. I don't see how she had the hold town believed her lie. My favorite part of the was when the girls and Abigail was in court and they was repeating everything that Abigail said. My least favorite part was when all the innocent people were hung for no reason.
I liked the movie better than the book because you could actually understand what was going on and where things were coming from. Either way the Crucible was good, i just cant believe some little immature girl started everything with this old man and soon enough an affair broke out and John does not love her and she gets mad and goes and accuses innocent people of witchcraft and the people got hung.
I don't like the movie. Everything was a little too realistic from the dirt and grime on the peoples' bodies from not taking baths to their teeth being disgustingly yellow and to the sound of the people getting handed. It's very disturbing.
The movie was very real. The way everything was placed and the shots of the movie made me feel like I was in it. It was a lot like the book though I'm not sure if it was exactly like the book because there were parts left out. Altogether it was a great movie.
ok we watched the movie crucible and it was an ok movie. i like the parts where they were in the court and they were trying to find the one responsible for all the witch craft and stuff. The parts I didnt like were where Abigal was lying saying that mary warren was the one responsible when it was john who told her to lie.

I hated the movie.However, I've never been too big on the play. I didn't like anything about it. I dislike that innocent people lose their lives because the adults and children are too stupid to know better and their ego gets in the way of seeing the truth.

It was great. it begins with a bunch of "girls" dancing naked in the forest and were doing witchcraft. therefore started to blame people for witchcraft and being with the devil. people were being hung for things they did not do. its horrible. then they do not lie to save their life they keep their names clean and die and say a prayer to god before they die.

Many innocent people were hanged because of a little girl thinking she is in love with a grown man. I understand why Proctor did what he did, to stand up for what he believed in, the hard thing was to leave his family and sons.I thought the actors did a good job of showing emotion, and the imagery was very good as well.
I love the movie!!! I thought that it was very funny to me it had some parts in it where I didn't like at all. For example when the people was getting hung and everybody was cheering it on that was the part i just hated!!! But over all it was a great movie...
In the movie I liked the part where Abigail and the girls are in the church and Abigail pretends that there is a bird coming after them because it is funny when they all freak out. I didn't like the part where Abigail corners John Proctor in the woods because it makes her look like a you-know-what.
I liked the movie way more than I did the play. The play seemed boring but when I watched the movie the affection was there and it was like I could see and feel the things that those people was going through. My favorite part of the movie would have to be close to the end when the kids and Abigail were screaming in the court and then ran out into the pond.

The movie was exactley like I thought it was going to be. The scene I enjoyed most from the movie was the pretending with Abigail and the girls accusing good citizens of witchcraft.The scene I did not enjoy was when John Proctor refered to abigail as a Whore.
I think this movie was a good movie and the parts that I liked about the movie is when Tituba got all the girls to confess about witchcraft because she got the girls to confess and the part i did not like is when they arrested all these people that they thought was guity for witchcraft that was not true and the reason why i did not like it was because all them people were not guilty
I thought the movie version of the crucible was good. it was definately way better than reading the play. there were really no specific parts of the movie that i liked because the whole movie was good.
Now that I have seen the movie, I understand the play a lot better now. When I was just reading it, I got confused and didn't really know what was going on, but after watching the movie it cleared everything up for me. I think Proctor did and didn't do the right thing. I think he was smart for signing the confession then riping it because it was his word and there were plenty of witnesses. I also think he shouldn't have ripped it up because he would have been free and he would have been able to be back with his family and with the baby that Elizabeth is having. Abigail was my least favorite person. she ended up killing the one she thought she loved because of her stupid selfishness. It was horrible what happened to the 19 INNOCENT people. I think I must say that the innocent hangings were my least favorite part of the play and the movie.
I liked the movie. It was better than reading th play mainly because it was shorter. I thought was a good movie overall. My least favorite parts were the innocent hangings. I also disliked Abigail.
The movie was so much better than the play. My favorite part in the movie was when Proctor signed his name to the release form and then didnt want to give it to them. I didn't like the part of the hanging just because it wasn't right for those innocent people to hang.
I liked the movie, but I thought that the end was tragic. I don't think that Proctor should have died like that. Even if he would have confessed,he still would have got hung.
I have seen the movie, The Crucible. it is really good. I really liked the fact that John Proctor stuck to his word and was always honest.I didn't like the fact that Abigail lied just to try and get John Proctor to be hers, but the overall movie was good.
I liked the part where the movie ended b/c I did have to watch any more. I disliked the part where they were kiss and doing other stuff b/c I believe that is vile and disturbing to watch on tv or in a movie.

ReplyDeleteI think this movie was a good movie and the parts that I liked about the movie is when Tituba got all the girls to confess about witchcraft because she got the girls to confess and the part i did not like is when they arrested all these people that they thought was guity for witchcraft that was not true and the reason why i did not like it was because all them people were not guilty
ReplyDeleteI thought the movie version of the crucible was good. it was definately way better than reading the play. there were really no specific parts of the movie that i liked because the whole movie was good.
ReplyDeleteNow that I have seen the movie, I understand the play a lot better now. When I was just reading it, I got confused and didn't really know what was going on, but after watching the movie it cleared everything up for me. I think Proctor did and didn't do the right thing. I think he was smart for signing the confession then riping it because it was his word and there were plenty of witnesses. I also think he shouldn't have ripped it up because he would have been free and he would have been able to be back with his family and with the baby that Elizabeth is having. Abigail was my least favorite person. she ended up killing the one she thought she loved because of her stupid selfishness. It was horrible what happened to the 19 INNOCENT people. I think I must say that the innocent hangings were my least favorite part of the play and the movie.
ReplyDeleteI liked the movie. It was better than reading th play mainly because it was shorter. I thought was a good movie overall. My least favorite parts were the innocent hangings. I also disliked Abigail.

ReplyDeleteThe movie was so much better than the play. My favorite part in the movie was when Proctor signed his name to the release form and then didnt want to give it to them. I didn't like the part of the hanging just because it wasn't right for those innocent people to hang.
ReplyDeleteI liked the movie, but I thought that the end was tragic. I don't think that Proctor should have died like that. Even if he would have confessed,he still would have got hung.
ReplyDeleteI have seen the movie, The Crucible. it is really good. I really liked the fact that John Proctor stuck to his word and was always honest.I didn't like the fact that Abigail lied just to try and get John Proctor to be hers, but the overall movie was good.
ReplyDeleteI liked the part where the movie ended b/c I did have to watch any more. I disliked the part where they were kiss and doing other stuff b/c I believe that is vile and disturbing to watch on tv or in a movie.
ReplyDeleteI thought the play was very good, and entertaining. I think they did a good job, I think John Proctor did the right thing by telling the truth. I think the movie was very good, and I understood it better than the book.
