After reading Act 1, and thinking about the events leading up to the climax at the end of the act, do you think the confessions from Tituba and the girls are believable? Explain why or why not.

  1. I think that the confessions from Tituba are not believeable because she only started calling people out when she had the fear of being hung.

  4. No because Abigal blamed it on tituba and Tituba started blaming people they don't like so they could get theirselves out of trouble and now there is like 40 people in jail for nothing !

  5. I believe Tituba was telling the truth because she conjures the spirits of dead people and she said the devil asked her to work for him.I believe the girls were the witches that surrounded Tituba.

  8. - I think that everyone is innocent until proven guilty. When Abigail and Tituba are put under pressure they just start blaming random people. They are not thinking about the consequences and are being very selfish. So i think it is safe to say that I dont think their stories are believable.

  9. No, Because Abigal is the leader and She didn't want to get blamed for witchcraft, So she started blaming people she didn't like so she wouldn't get hung. She would swear to anything before being hung or being accused of witchcraft.

  11. No i do not think the girls are believable because abigail is a sneaky hoe and they are trying to blame everything on everybody else instead of just taking the blame for themselves because they dont want to get in trouble.

  14. I dont think the confessions are believable. The girls started calling out names because they didnt want to be blamed for witchcraft. Tituba called out names when she vfigured out they were going to hang her. She lied because she didnt want to die.

  16. To my stand point no....because as of today you cant believe no one in what they say because when it come down to the get down they blame someone else or put it on someone else when they know they are guilty just as abigail blamed tituba.

  17. They aren't believable in our point of veiw. But to be a person in the village, the story doesn't exactly add up so I don't htink its believable.

  18. I do not think that the confessions from Tituba and the girls are believable because, they no they did it and they get scared and start calling out different people's name. They don't want no one to find out because, they think it will ruin their reputation.

  19. I believe that all the people the girls say is into witchcraft is really not. They are just making up lies because they do not wish too be hung in the courts. They confess about themselves being into witchcraft and they dont not want to be the only ones in trouble. they expect everyone too believe them, and they are just trying to make themselves have a better reputation by calling out other peoples names. I also believe that Abigail Williams is somewhat trying too impress John Proctor with her misconsumption of knowing who are witches and who are not.

  24. No Tituba should own up to her problems and confess to doing witchcraft in the woods because she is getting innocent people that she does not like in trouble and might just have them hung for her stupidness.
