  1. After watching the movie The Crucible, I understand it a lot more. The main thing that I liked about it was how dramatic it was and how it reflected the story of Christ. Although I liked somethings, I really didn't like how they went off of other people saying that they suspected witchcraft. I thought that they should have had proof before they could even question the people. They should not have been able to hang innocent people.

  2. I liked the part when Abigail and the girls were all repeating mary warren, I liked that part because it was interesting. I did not like the part when they were hanged. That part was sad and boring.

  3. After watching the movie version of the Crucible i liked it watching the movie was better then reading it. The part i liked in the movie is when John Proctor pushed Abigail Williams down when they was in the woods i think. The part i didnt like was when Abigail accused Goody Proctor of witch craft because she wanted John Proctor to her self. But in all it was a pretty good movie.

  4. The Crucible the movie was okay. Reading the book I expected more out of the movie. Although there was great acting in the Movie. The role of Abigail and the rest of the girls was played fairly well. My favorite scenes was the trials in court, the way the girls was faking what they saw and fainting. Although I didn't really care for the scene where Tituba got beat with the whip, But I still would recommend the book and movie to everyone.

  5. Now that i saw the movie I new and understood what the story was talking about. The things I didnt like about the movie or story is that they hung people that didn't tell a false confession that they was a witch. I think they did good not telling a false confession. I mean it was one lie but if Proctor would of said he was a witch people would of looked at him different. Other than that it was a great story and movie.

  6. I was very impressed throughout this entire movie. This movie was about the town of Salem, which was tore apart by a girl named Abigail. She accused many people in the town of witchcraft, which led many people to die because they would not confess lies. The whole reason Abigail did this was so she could be with John Proctor, but he had a wife. She ending up accusing his wife, Elizabeth so that she could hang. My favorite part of this movie was the ending. John Proctor ending up being accused, but he stood his ground. He confessed, but when it came to writing it down, he refused. He ended up being hung, but with a good name. The ending was set up to remind you about the crucifiction of Jesus Christ. My least favorite part was when a lot of people got hung. I didn't like the fact that innocent people was hung. Overall it was a great movie I enjoyed.

  7. This movie was okay, I thought. It was about the Salem witch trials. My favorite part was when Abigail got slapped. I didn't like her, and I thought it was really funny. At the end, John Proctor got hanged, and I didn't like that. He died because of some whore.

  8. This movie had a cool meaning. But I didn't like it, it didn't interest me. It had good graphics and the director did a good job filming from different angles. For example, when Proctor, Martha Corey, and Rebecca Nurse were being carried off, he put Proctor in the middle to resemble the three crosses. So overall the movie, graphic wise, was great. But, the movie just didn't interest me.

  10. Well to be honest I enjoyed the movie. The movie was well done and they picked amazing actors to play the main characters. There really wasn't a part in the movie I did not like. I really liked the actor that played Giles Corey and John Proctor. They did a fantastic job portraying the characters. Another character that was portrayed very well was Abigail Williams. All in all it was an amazing movie.

  11. The Crucible was a very good movie. It showed a very detailed and descriptive view of the Salem witchcraft trials. One part that I liked was when Abigail acted as if Mary Warren was on top of the rafter as a bird trying to swoop down on her. I liked this part because it did a very good job at showing how far the people would go to save their own life. It also showed how gullible people were back then when the judge did not believe Mary when she said she was not up there, even though he could not see anything either. One part that I did not like was when John Proctor and Rebecca Nurse were hanged. They were innocent, but yet, they had to hang because they did not want to give up there good name to live. It is great that they were willing to die for what they believed in, but they should not have had to die. They did not do anything. Overall, it was a very good movie.

  12. I did not like the very end when John Proctor, Martha Corey, and Rebecca Nurse got hanged. It was very sad when she mad eye contact with her husband, before she started the prayer. I also did not like the scene when John and Elizabeth were talking before he gave his story. It was sad. However, I did like how the director used the last scene to relate to other things, like the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The scenes were very alike. I did like it when the old man got accused of witchcraft only because he said hey to a man, and when he did the fire magically blew up. I thought that was funny.

  13. The Crucible is about the witchcraft trials that took place in Salem, Massachusetts. Many girls in the town were accused of witchcraft including Abigail Williams. Abigail then blamed John Proctor and his wife Elizabeth. From this accusation, many others started to be accused throughout the whole town including Rebecca Nurse and Martha Corey. As many admit to witchcraft falsely, John Proctor, Rebecca Nurse and Martha Corey admit to not being involved truthfully, which results in them being hanged. The part that I liked most was when John Proctor would not give his name. He stood up to Danforth and the others and showed that he cared about his pride. I really disliked the part where the townspeople were being hanged. Although it did not show them being hanged, the sound of them being pushed off the ledge and the breaking of their necks made it very gruesome to me. I also didn't like the idea of if you admitted to witchcraft you wouldn't be hanged but if you denied it you would.

  14. The Crucible is a GREAT movie! It is a movie which explains what happened in a town named Salem when witchcraft was present. The young girl, Abigail Williams, is practically trying to destroy everyone's life. She participated in an affair with John Proctor. Her uncle, Rev. Parris, saw Abigail and the other teenage girls dancing in the woods. Rev. Parris's daughter, Betty, was "sick." She was acting like the witchcraft experiment made the devil enter her body. Well, they called Doc. Hale to come and examine what is going on. Doc. Hale asked several people questions about what had happened. They had tons of court sessions to try to figure out the exact truth. Many people were hung because they were accused of witchcraft. John Proctor & Elizabeth Proctor were put in prison for three months. When they were allowed to leave prison they were able to speak with each other alone. Once they were done speaking, John Proctor signed a paper saying that he had the devil inside of him. Well, after he signed the paper he decided not to hand it over to Danforth. Since Proctor wouldn't hand the paper over he, Rebecca Nurse, and Martha Corey were hung.

One thing I liked about the movie was the way they had the scenes set up at the end of the movie. It was set up to look like the killing of Jesus Christ.

One thing I didn't like about the movie was how they hung people which were innocent.

  15. The part i really like is the part were at the end john told the truth and the people followed him and I also like the symbolism of him being pictured as God on the cross. I don't think that there is a part I didn't like.

  16. The movie The crucible was a odd movie. It was a dramatic movie with a bunch of cry babies that lie. There wasn't many good parts to this movie, it was hard to keep up with what was going on. Although i thought it was interesting how towards the end of the movie that they symbolize Jesus's death to Proctors.

  17. The movie the Crucible was a very odd and different movie to me, but at the same time it was pretty good. My favorite part was when they accused the old man of witchcraft or when they were blaming everyone else for witchcraft. Their weren't many good parts but that one was my favorite.

  18. In the movie version of the Crucible I love the way the director uses imagery and symbolism, like when Mary Warren confessed in court and the light brightened in the back, and when John Procter, Rebecca Nurse, and Martha Corey are taken away, to be hung, and they represent the three crosses. What i disliked about the movie was the actors that played Putnam and Hawthorne.

  19. I like the last part when john was symbolized as Jesus. There is no part in the play i din't like

  20. The Crucible is not for people with a short temper, since it provokes so much emotion. I like the movie in that it has such powerful imagery and a good story line. It is full of visual biblical references, such as Proctor standing in between two women as he is hanged that he towers over, like the three crosses on the hill where Jesus was crucified. I didn't like it because I wanted to shoot Abigail, Parris and Danforth or being stupid.

  21. A group of girls goes dancing in the woods with a slave named Tituba. They get caught by Reverend Parris. Abigail is questioned about what happened in the woods. Abigail tells the girls not to admit to anything. The girls start spreading lies about people being witches. Proctor is having an affair with Abigail. At the end, John Proctor and two other women gets hung.
I like the part when Abigail and the girls fall out in the church. It was funny !
I dislike how they were hanging all of the people who were innocent.

  22. In my opinion the movie was excellent and I liked how it didn't stray far from the play at all. I really like how at the end they used symbolization to make John Proctor kind of look like Jesus. I also really like how they made the people actually look like they were in that time period. One of the only things that I didn't like about the movie was the amount of violence in it, but other than that it was really good. I enjoyed the amount of emotion everyone displayed at the end of the movie. All in all this was an awesome movie.

  23. In the Crucible people are getting hanged because they're being accused of witchcraft. People agree to saying they danced with the devil to keep from getting hanged even though this was a lie. I didn't like when people were hung. I liked that John Proctor stood up for other people. I also didn't like that Abigail accused everyone else of things. Overall I really liked the movie !

  24. I think the movie version of The Crucible was an extremely accurate depiction of the book and was transferred onscreen well. From what I saw, I think my favorite part was the ending when John Proctor and the two other women started reciting the Lord's Prayer. It was chilling to see how John was willing to give his life in order to help prove the innocence of those convicted, ultimately saving many lives. Being a Christian, the symbolism of the crosses and Christ's crucifixion not only gave a profound understanding of the extreme sacrifice Jesus made. Also, it shows how much hysteria of any kind, in this case thinking there were witches, can tear people and lives apart. One part that I didn't particularly like is the fact that Abigail just got away without any consequence for the wrong she had done. Aside from that, great movie...

  26. The movie was really interesting. If I wouldn't of watched that movie I would have never thought that would of happen its kinda hard to see that side. the part that I didnt like was that they was lying on the poor people that hasn't done nothing to them and that they keep going alone with it. but what i liked was how the man and the women was honest to the people and that john didn't want to lie about anything.

  27. The movie version of the crucible was a decent movie, but one that if I had the option I would not watch again. The actors weren't bad at their roles, but none of them did such a good job that they were memorable. I personally enjoyed the play version more than it. In my opinion the worst scene was the one they are accusing everyone, but only because I hated the way that the girls sounded while they were screeching.

  28. I didn't like the movie. We wasn't able to watch it from the beginning which made it confusing because we didn't know what actually happened in the forest which was the main cause of everything that was happening.

  29. It was an okay movie and i liked the fact that it was almost exactly like the play. My favorite part was when Abigail and the other girls started to scream out names of women they "saw with the devil."
